Reporting

Saipem reports to and communicates with its stakeholders through a number of channels, being aware of the importance of informing the stakeholders on the sustainability approach Saipem implements in the projects it carries out and in the areas of the world where it operates.

For Saipem, the annual Sustainability Report is a primary tool for reporting on activities and results, as well as a way of providing information to stakeholders and conducting a dialogue with them.
The Report covers the principles which guide the company’s actions and the performance that has been achieved. It explains the objectives that have been reached – comparing them to the ones previously stated and the future objectives. It also shows the results of Saipem’s engagement with stakeholders. Considering the diversity and complexity of Saipem business and organisation, Saipem Sustainability Report focuses its attention and describes some relevant aspects of the comprehensive sustainability approach.
The report covers Saipem's worldwide operations for the year and reviews the initiatives implemented. The report includes also best practices and focuses from around the several areas of activity, demonstrating how Saipem is integrated into the local realities. They cover all of the types of challenges that Saipem and the local communities must face, including cases related to biodiversity and to the protection of the environment, cases of social initiatives where Saipem presence integrates in the local realities and supports the development and cases where Saipem is a vehicle of personal development of a promoter of new technologies and know-how.
The document follows the existing international guidelines for sustainability reporting, in particular the Global Reporting Initiative (using the GRI/G3 Guidelines, 2006 edition regarding the definition of the reporting principles), as presented in the GRI/G3 Index matrix.

Since 2003 Saipem has published and regularly updated a series of project and country Case Studies.
These case studies focus on a specific project or on a specific country and describes the principles, activities and performance that has been achieved by Saipem and its operating Companies towards sustainable development, addressed to different local stakeholders.
